I just don't like to be slightly different. I'm very anti-band wagon, on all things.

Anyway, I have thought about that. More expensive car used. But I would hate to have some hood riches used BMW that has never seen an oil change for 20,000 miles. Or some other stupid shit. Plus that requires lots more hunting.

My brother in law just told me he got a job promotion to mechanic complete with assigned work truck. He wants to get rid of his 2010 aveo... trying to get our wives little 16 yr old bro to buy it. He said I could give up and just make his payment. LOL

This is so much cooler than anything else I been looking at! LOL

It looks just like this one

Tell him to throw in some spinner hub caps and jump on that deal.

Lol. I will admit. On the pure $$ savings it looks interesting. But its a stripper point a to b car. Power locks, no a/c, no abs, man windows & mirrors. I never ragged him on "the skate" because he only paid like $12k for it or somin. I just don't know if I can live with such thing. Even if it does help family.

I sold one when I had my used car business. It was around and 04 or so. I drove it 45 minutes to deliver it to my customer. It was an ok car. It was no power house on the highway but it was ok. Would I own one? Tiny cars are really not my thing.

I couldn't do it. And the no a/c (and its not warm all that long here) manual windows and so on would drive me nuts. I don't really even want another car without heated mirrors after getting them on the Tribute. I like features.

E28 with a turbo kit. car will run you 2k, little more for the conversion. bit more for rims. budget yourself around 10k and you'll have a retarded DD with reliability and power.

Plus any BMW that you could actually get for $2K is going to have oxidized paint, moldy seats, needs new shocks, bushings, window regulators, clutch, etc. It's the type of situation where you're constantly going "Should I bother modding this, when there are a ton of other things it needs in order to become really nice". I mean a decent paint job alone is at least $2K (sorry but Maaco is not a decent paint job).

I would get a 2-3 year old BMW under the CPO program. For the price of that Volvo, you could have a turbo 335i in either sedan, coupe, or convertible, with tons more power, more luxury, real RWD, and a better shifter. BMW provides free maintenance for the first 3 yrs, so you don't really need to worry about previous owners skipping an oil change, especially since they might get screwed later if they had to make a warranty claim.
