The really sad part is this Olympics won't be remembered for the hockey game. It will be remembered for the Georgian who died on the course and all the idiotic things that were said and done right after. I hope the idiots in charge of that one get sued out the ass.

It easy to say that its idiotic things. But the fact remains, he wasnt prepared to compete with the best, on the the hardest course. Im not saying track designers arent at fault for his death, they totally are. But its also on the backs of countries to make sure the athletes are prepared to run in those conditions.

How could you prepare for that course though? He was a competent competitor to qualify for the olympics, but that course was designed to be faster than anything on the planet. You can't prepare for the fastest ever made when the host country bans outsiders from it.

He had a wreck and the idiot designers of the course had metal structure objects in the crash zone without any sort of protection. If someone is going to come off the track, it's right where they had the structure.

When I go to the gap, even I know not to park my bike in the crash zone when I stop to talk to the photographers. It's just asking for your bike to get taken out by someone who loses it in the corner.

Actually he had practised on the course previously and also crashed.
