If that's what you're gonna do I demand a build thread

Oh, for sure...I've documented a few of my old builds, these should be fun.

Well, what's easier, hooking up a head unit with a million wires, or an Apple dongle to twin RCAs coming from an iPad?
Double standards my ass. I just like simple, and elegant.

I plan on building a house in about a year... the wife gets to design the rest of the house (minus the room with the tv and sound system - that is mine ) the garage is all mine. I plan on getting a toolbox like that and setting the whole garage up so I can actually get to my tools. I'll have to look around for something like that.

Actually, looks like I will end up with a 427 hood, two flat stock "stinger" hoods, and the abomination you see in the pic, apparently some Ecklers Greenwood-style reproduction hood, which I will sell.

Actually, it's not the L88, but the 427/LT1 hood:
The one I'd like to put on the flared car for sale is actually the 73-75 hood. Need to find one. This should have the clearance the Holley needs, but look "right" on the car. It would also eliminate the wiper door.

Nah, actually, AMJ has been here for the past 3 weeks or so, and we've been working on my basement studio...although he did have to build shelves in the garage to put away all the 'Vette parts first!
Remember I had to choose between two '69 Corvettes? ...and the other one had a PERFECT body, with NO mods? ...AND even came with a big block from a later model SS454 truck? Well, it was too good to pass on, and my bro lent me the bread, and we got that one too. I now have 3 'Vettes in my fucking driveway, although I'm selling the '94 C4 to build the two '69s. The one with the flares now has a '73 hood on it, and looks MUCH better, although I will need to modify the tops of the fenders just a little, to match the upturned rear edge of the '73-76 hood profile, but thankfully no more fucking "Corvette Summer" shit, and no need for a wiper door. Know anyone that wants an Ecklers Turbo II hood? Cheap? I actually picked up TWO '73 hoods, and I think I'm gonna cut a big square hole in one of them. Why? Well, let's just say the flared '69 is going to be finished off a bit more like a Hot Rod, since I don't feel like putting four new fenders on the car (as I now intend to sell it off for a profit), and with the flares and sidepipes adorning the sides, it really needed a "feature" in the front, and in the back...so, it's getting a flip-top billet aluminum LeMans-style GT gas cap for the rear deck, to spruce things up a tad, and THIS fucker poking out of said hole in the second hood: Oh yes, I did. Two 390 CFM Holleys, on a Weiand Tunnel Ram. I love Ebay. Fucking stole that thing. Paid less than 6 bills for the entire setup. That's an actual pic of the manifold on the Nova it came off of. Fucking UPS crushed the air filters, but they really needed to be replaced with nice fresh white elements anyway, like I said, they were on a driver. The other one is going to stay outwardly stock (save some modernization of brakes, and interior), and will be my "keeper". The flared 'Vette keeps its numbers-matching L48 small block, and the other one (which came with the awesome 427/LT1 hood) will get the small block out of my '71 Chevelle, which will in turn receive the 454. I will then dress up the 'Velle as an SS 454 Tribute Resto-mod car, and probably sell that too. That car has a SERIOUS drivetrain in it, and would survive the torque of the Rat Motor a lot better (Lakewood scattershield, Midway Centerforce clutch, M-20 wide Hurst Competition plus shifted Muncie, driveshaft loop, Lakewood ladderbars, and a Moroso Brute Posi 12-bolt 4-series carrier, running 3.73s). The big block, and the rest of the parts for the second '69 are coming this weekend, weather permitting, and I intend to start on all this as soon as weather gets better. My arthritis doesn't like cold and damp. I'll post more pics and updates, thanks for asking!

Great deal on the dual quad set up :dthumbs:
Sounds like you'll be busy with multiple wrenching. Put the hood on corvette forum or the vette barn for a decent price and somebody will buy it. Thanks for the update |
