They are going... mom is now staying at my house. She had a few moments today when she started to cry but she pulled thru. She's always been very strong. She had a ruff time when her and I were at the funeral home ordering the last few things and paying for everything.

Sat, Uma is taking her shopping for some new clothes for Sun/Mon. And I plan on working around the house... trying to finish up things before Sundays LONG LONG DAY!!! 9hrs at the funeral home!! ! OH MY

I've recently been there and done that with my mom at the last of October. I know what you're going through. Even though my mom remained a widow after my dad's death in the late 80's, what little family I had left couldn't cope with what was going on and I had to do everything (and not having a clue). I had a friend who helped me a little. I also let my family help make some of the decisions...I think it helped them some.

You said your dad rode. Have you thought about a bit of a biker send off?

I have thought about a biker send off...dad even said something about it. However, the weather isn't great and especially in the mornings. I told mom I could ride my bike at least. However, she said "nooo" but I'm working on her. I think the suit on the bike would be funny.

I hope your mom did things on her own ( as in had her own hobbies). We're encouraging my MIL to find things to do by herself or with friends. She was always with her husband, literally 24/7/365 as you never go too far with a farm.

Best of luck Chris, be strong for your mom.

Well today was the viewing for dad. The crowd of people was overwhelming. For the first 4 hrs it was standing room only. The Michigan boys can attest to it. There was a line out the room for a good portion. The support was beyond words. My Michigan Big Dogs...I have not the words.

Tomry, we will lay him to rest. I'm giving his eulogy and then after the cemetary ceramony. I'm staying behind when everybody leaves to go to the wake. I plan on throwing down some dirt myself and watching everything from placing the casket in the vault, ect.

Thank again for everything!

My thoughts are still with you GM. Tomorrow will be tough but I think you will feel a bit more "concluded" once you help everything wrap up with the burial.
