on G+., if you hit "photos" you go to your Picasa web albums. There you will find for example the default folders for your profile pictures on G+, and the "Drop Box" for uploading pics from your phone. you can set the privacy to these folders to "anyone who has the link". but if you give the link to someone, all photos in the folder are brows-able, not just the one pic you give the link too.

Gotcha. For stuff uploaded through the G+ app, the photos dump into a different folder than the normal Drop Box folder for other picasa uploads. The auto upload stuff drops into an Auto Upload folder that is locked down. From what it looks like on the picasa page, the photos that you choose to share through G+ are then copied to a separate folder with a different set of permissions. I'm looking around to see if there's a work around, but it doesn't look like there's a way to access the photos in the Auto Upload folder without being the account holder or giving someone specific access. The photos in the Auto Upload never touch the Drop Box folder and don't have any public access unless you change the visibility of the folder or share the specific pictures on G+.

Edited to add: after playing around, it doesn't look like there's an option to change the visibility of the Auto Upload folder. It looks like it's on permanent lock down to anyone but the account holder.

Is there a way to search for some random topic like you can on Twitter? The search just lets you search for people. Whats the use of the public option when posting if things can't be found?

Below Notifications and above Chat there's a link for Sparks. I think that may be what you're looking for.

No I have some Sparks set up (ie Petebilt, Motocross, Supercross and so on) but I'm looking for random things posted by people I haven't added to circles. Can this be done?

There may be an easier way that I just don't see, but here's a slightly involved method:

http://www.techoncept.com/add-google...s-posts-chrome

The downside is that it doesn't let you see these posts in a stream, but rather gives you abbreviated search results to click on.

Only problem with that is I don't use Chrome. Might have to try it out. Not sure.

Had to bump this...

I don't use Myspace, facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc...

Therefore, I also don't use Google plus.

I do, however, use gmail.

Apparently, because I have friends that use Google Plus and also use gmail, I get to see all of their useless updates that I don't care about and didn't sign up to not see.

Thanks Google.

You are also getting your email scanned every day, to search for keywords so they can figure out what kind of ads to send to you.

Plus, Google owns Youtube now, so if you had a Youtube account before, you won't be able to sign into it anymore until you "link" it to your Google account. This way, they can cross-reference what kind of videos you watch with what you say in your emails. Nice.
