The health dept here requires a birth certificate before they will provide service to a minor child.

The DMV here requires a married woman to bring her marriage certificate/license before they will put her married name on the license, even if their last license they are re-newing has their married name

NYC gives out something saying they have the birth certificate unless you are willing to travel to the city for a copy of your birth certificate. So far it has worked just like a birth certificate for me.

The nice thing about not having a coaster brake is being able to backpeddle.
