All Kingsnakes will eat other snakes, poisonous or not. North American kingsnakes are immune to the venom of North American poisonous snakes (rattlers, cottonmouths, copperheads, even corals) but not neccesarily poisonous snakes from other places. They are very good to have around to keep down the populations of other snakes and rodents and they can get pretty big. I saw one in Osceola National forest about 6-7 ft long laying in the road and when it saw me it literally launched itself from the edge of the road and cleared about a 12 ft wide ditch to land and disappear into the woods.

I don't believe we have many snakes in michigan and we don't hv a big rat issue. Maybe in detroit they hv a mild rat issue (mild compared to like ny).
