You can shrink a bearing race by running a bead around the center of the race with an arc welder set on a low. Just run a bead in the circumference and it will fall out.

ah yes, I've used this method before. wear protection (gloves, glasses, cup) from flying articles. ask me how I know. LOL
good luck. I'm still leaning towards the cut off wheel on a dremel. Seems the sanest way to do it. |
