Really though, thats their laws, yes I disagree with them, and thing that they are all backwater ignorant fools stuck in the 13th century with guns and tvs, but it is still their culture and customs and their laws. If they want to change that and enough of their people want to change that they will overthrow the government. But enough of their people support it or are willing to stay silent so they have to live with the consequenses. If they want to leave the country and they are truly motivated enough to do so then they will. In the mean time I just have no sympathy for them.

If a court upholds the charge, then sorry them's the rules. When another court strikes it down, then them's not the rules anymore.

I should be more specific then: They aren't the RELIGION'S rules.

Yes, it is the strictest set of that religions rules. Just like any modern religion their strictest followers would take a line that says 'babies should not be born to unwed mothers' and turn it into 'no sex before marriage and gonna stone you if you do.' Or they could go another way completely, and say just don't get pregnant, but they choose to follow the no sex or we stone you interpretation.

Sorry, but it isn't. Far too many things that are being attributed to Islam, are actually CULTURAL practises. If some people like Wahhabi choose to add things to The religion that aren't actually in it, then it isn't The Koran that is at fault.

I've read it, although admittedly not in it's entirety and you couldn't call it studying. However, how do you judge the Hell's Angels? By the actions they're most widely known for. Same thing for Islam. Not all Islamic people are bad, in fact most of them are decent people, but they subscribe to a religion that very much lends itself to unseemly labels. Christianity has that kind of history too, but not in the last few generations, whereas Islam has and continues to support killing in the name of Allah. It began in conflict and nothing has changed in it's entire legacy. It's not a religion of peace, it's a religion of intolerance. And things won't be peaceful if everyone converts, because with the absence of infidels to exterminate the Sunni/Shiite smackdown will begin, all over who Muhammad's successor was supposed to be. Defend the people and the believers who are decent, but don't try to defend the religion. No religion is worth defending really, but the leadership of Islam in several countries has pretty glaringly proven that they really don't want any of the peace or enlightenment their religion could offer. You judge a tree by it's fruit, and there is a lot of fruit in the last ten years to show what Islam should be judged by.

Yup. Read it. Not only that but, given where I live, I've spent a fair bit of time living and working around Muslims.
