Weed is a dirty drug....when you're young and smoke weed it's cool because it associates you with the surfer, laid back cool crowd. But smoking weed when you are old is the same as smoking cigs. It is not accepted anylonger and looked upon as a dirty habit.

When you are older, a drink here and here is still accepted.

I understand your point. I am only 20, so I am still in the young, having fun stage of life. I do know quite a few older people who smoke though. A ton in the 30-40 crowd and a few who are 50+.

Drinking is more acceptable, only because of the crowd who has never tried it and thinks it is horrible just because it is illegal.

Then, eventually they look for more (E, coke etc. etc.) I understand it is not the actual drug (mj), but when someone uses a drug to feel good, they subsequently seem to want more. Its like riding a motorcycle fast on the track. You are always looking to go faster and faster.

You are missing the point. What I'm trying to say is that you can replace pot with any drug. It doesn't matter what the drug is, people will always want to go further.

I agree with you there is little to no evidence that smoking weed drives someone to do harder drugs. But...research has shown that when people do something to feel good, they tend to want more of it.
