There's a pretty big spectrum between "fawning and ass kissing" and "controlling the relationship." I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that most sane women want a little bit of both of those things. In my experience, equality in a relationship ain't always illusion.

As a woman I never understood the "respond with scorn". If some guy has the balls to compliment or ask out a total stranger, the least a lady can do is thank him for the effort and be polite. If a guy is being a jerk, thats different, obviously.

A lot of women adopt an "aloof" attitude that comes across as if they're too good for you, when in reality it's because they don't have the confidence to turn down a man politely.......So they just avoid talking to those men altogether.

The best women are those who aren't afraid to be friendly with any guy, even ones who they aren't attracted to.........Because they know that even if he asks her out, she has the communication skills to decline clearly yet politely, without offending him.

I think women can be trusted more to hang out with men because women can be friends with guys without being sexually attracted to them. Men are usually sexually attracted to their female friends. I didn't make this up....this was a man made statement.
