anyone ever vacation in Peru?

I'm trying to line up my honeymoon - I want to go South to somewhere exotic. Neither one of us are "lay around" kind of people, the more activity the better (a cruise is ENTIRELY out of the question - not even for free, sounds like pure hell to me). I'm not interested in Mexico, but somewhere in south america? Peru came to mind.

any other suggestions or ideas for other spots to resarch?

We're not made of money - and the wedding it eating up most of the budget - but for a lifetime experience, we know it'll cost something!
