On these HDMI switches do you get any signal loss? I know on standard coax each split was -3db loss. My LCD has only 1 HDMI port and I have 2 HDMI devises, blu ray player and the HD satellite receiver.

My Denon doesn't have any HDMI inputs, it's about 9 years old. This blu ray player is also going in my bedroom where I don't have a home theater setup. Just an HD satellite receiver and 720P LCD TV.

Splitter or not, the sound and picture quality should be the same.

Pretty much - the digital signal will either reach the target from the source, or it won't; there's really no degree of degredation in the signal. Faulty cables/connections will show artifacts/distortion on the display device at a constant.

Yeah, what you will see out of a digital signal loss from a long cable or splitting it too much is either no signal or a lagging intermitent signal. You won't get fuzzy signals like analog.
