Maybe so. I know Discovery Health shows that shit a lot and I'm pretty sure Discovery does too.
Here is today's lineup... http://dsc.discovery.com/tv-schedules/daily.html Cash Cab, American Chopper, Jail shit, and other shoes that have really little to do with science. The next day isn't much better except for the survivor stuff. They have Surviving the Cut which is really cool but belongs on hte Military Channel. I remember back in the day where they showed crap about the Oceans, space, technology, and other really cool science stuff which I loved. I think the Reality Shows have just ruined anything.

Discovery Science still has some good stuff on it. (Through the Wormhole, Wonders of the Universe, SciFi Science)
Discovery HD Theater does also.
