I agree, but stated in the article intent to murder has to be proven to allow execution and that doesn't appear to be so in this case. The prosecution appears to know they can't prove intent, so they aren't seeking it. It sucks but that's the law of the state.

Thats unfortunate that the laws of that state require proof of intent to kill first for the death penalty.
Oh well, jail will do the same thing honestly. Those parents are sacks of shit for abusing a child like that anyhow. people who abuse innocent children in such a way get my blood BOILING. I hate seeing kids who have to live with abuse. it pisses me off. |

IMO, thats the pussification of america, people debating becuase they didn't "intend" to kill the child vs just abuse the child.
sad day in time.

Skipping most of the replies.. just want to say these people are idiots. It's people like this that astound me.. I mean how did they make it to adult-hood? How do they know how to put their shoes on in the morning? It just doesn't make sense to me..

The State of Texas had been known to execute people left and right and they're not going to do the same to these two POS? WTF, over?

I really don't have anything else to add that hasn't been said. I really hope they have great time in prison. I hope they get everything they deserve coming to them.

I would say that depraved indifference to the physical welfare of the child qualifies, with or without formulating the intent to kill.

It's amazing we don't think of abortion as cruel, but executing people like this and child abusers is too harsh a punishment. I say we bring back draw and quartering.

I agree with Bob...Put them into General Population. THey'll be tortured until they are eventually killed...either way, it will be faster than how long it takes for the death penalty to be enacted on them and the state wont have to pay for it!
