My parents gen - 75% went out and got jobs and worked my gen - seems to be 50/50 on work ethics. the now teenagers - seems to be 75/25. 25% of them want to work. Honestly, it's insane. I know, I have a 16yr old brother in law that has never had a job, and has a work ethic for shit and is useless as shit when you want his help working on something. But he can tell you he has 480 (or some stupid #) of friends on facebook, that he posts and tracks on his droid or blackberry or whatever he has. |

You work because you need the money, not because you WANT to.

But I choose to work instead of not working, waiting for hand outs. I contribute to society by transporting petroleum products and pay taxes.

If your BIL was 23, I'd understand. At 16, if your parents are willing and able to support you, there is no need to have a job.

My parents could support me, but I had a paper route at age 11. It's a work ethic.
