Its great in the summer, but the roots have completely destroyed the driveway and patio. In some cases the driveway has been pushed up half a foot or so.
Will cutting roots kill the tree?

The worst thing with that sort of stuff is you may have ot re do it in a few years. My dads sidewalk got pushed up several times by a tree out front. The tree is "owned" by the town yet you had ot pay to have it removed and also if it damaged your sidewalk you had to foot the bill.
I think the teer out front of our house may be dying, a prety thick section of branch fell in the street, I went out to clean it and its all rotted and theres some sort of moss/fungus growing on it.
