Yeah, but in my experience at the dog park... not a lot of the larger dogs let it happen!

having had 2 BIG dogs as puppies and now they are 4....it was a TON of work...they are a bit more managable now though..

we take our Pitty with us on vacays, the Boxer doesn't travel well, so we have a friend of ours stay at our house to dog sit.

That being said, if they are separated for any length of time, they get mopey and sad.

i totally agree with this.
as well as the fact that with two they go with you less and less.

playing fetch is fun though, either have to train them to wait or they race for it.
as far as just two dogs, getting the bully really settled down the boxer asnd they are insepsarable, definitely glad we did it. but there is still that third dog.....
lol she doesn't like the other two at all.

Two is good; three or more is a lot more work than it should be. We had two up until a few years back when we took in a rescue beagle. Just makes it much more work trying to walk them, groom them, etc. Not to mention more $$$ in flea and heartworm meds, vaccinations, etc. I'll never have more than two ever again. Ever.

So we picked up the puppy Sunday... IMMEDIATELY easier than Taco was, though I think it's a personality situation as well has having a 'big brother' to show her the ropes...

ONSSP picked her up Sunday while I was working... I got out late and ended up coming home to ONSSP attempting to sleep, both dogs in their individual crates. Belle was whining incessently (not crate trained) and Taco looked beside himself ("WTF is this whiney thing... I'm annoyed..." - payback motherfucker)...

Long story short, I ended up putting her in the crate with Taco and he started correcting the whining immediately... 5 minutes later... silence. A few hours later, HE woke me up whining... I took them both outside, Taco leashed and Belle free... He peed... and she started peeing. I think he woke me up so she wouldn't piss in his bed!

It's been that same situation ever since... She wants to do EVERYTHING he does, including pissing and shitting outside. She's had a couple of accidents, but after a whopping two days, she's already 100x better than he was at her age. Last night, zero whining in the crate (his crate), slept ALL through the night, and made it outside this morning before peeing! Again, personality wise, she's a LOT calmer than he was, but having the other dog to teach her is working amazingly well.

I believed you guys when you said it would be easier, but jesus... this is AMAZING!
