Yes, what we do to the Earth doesn't matter. After all, it only affects us in the present. Mother Nature will fix the damage in a few hundred or thousand years, so that makes it OK. Who cares if what we do hurts other people in the here and now.

The article is ridiculous. Of course the earth will heal itself of all the damage we do, when we are gone. The point of all the conservation efforts is to prevent mass suicide by high horsed stupidity, and taking out thousands upon thousands of species and ecosystems with us.
