Military Folk - Roll call!

I know quite a few of us are Military, and while I know who some of you are, I am curious to know where folks are stationed and what glamorous (

) jobs y'all do.

I'll start... I'm a Staff Sergeant (E6) in the Army National Guard (2 years so far.. spent 6 years in the Reserves before that).

MOS's I currently hold: 27D (Paralegal Specialist) and 88N (Transportation Movement Coordinator). Working on getting 42A (Human Resources Specialist). I'm also a bonefied Army Instructor.

Units I've been with: HHC, 13th COSCOM (Reserve Detachment, San Antonio & Fort Hood, TX) - that's the unit I deployed with during OIF II in 2004; HHC, 7/158th Aviation Regiment (Fort Hood, TX); 3747th Multifunctional Training Brigade (Grafenwoehr, Germany); HHC, 36th ID DISCOM (Camp Mabry, Austin, TX); and now currently assigned to (and working full-time for) HHC, 136th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade (Austin, TX).

Feel free to give as much or as little detail as you're comfortable sharing.. I understand for some of you OPSEC applies.

Being as I'm usually the one behind the camera.. I don't have many recent shots.. so I'm just adding one from my 21st birthday in Iraq (I'm the one holding the near-beer).

I am recently seperated from the Air Force. Three tours in Iraq...Medically retired... Was Security Forces.. Now I work as a TSA trainer...

3 tours? Were they the usual AF tours of 3 months?

I kid of course... if only because Tracy's best friend is in a Special Air Lift wing and what they considered a "deployment" was 4 weeks of flying in and out of the desert, but most of their time was spent getting drunk in Belgium.

my tours were 180 days. I worked at a prison on one of them, the other two we worked with Iraqi police.

I'm a 9-year USAF SSgt (E-5, we don't just give out rank like the rest of you.) My first job was Avionics on KC-135R & T models, and I did that for five years in Grand Forks, North Dakota working outside and it was shit. I deployed all over the world, including 19-Sep-01 for quite the long time.

I did five years of better than 200 days a year deployed, and then the AF decided they didn't need mechanics anymore, so they denied everyone's CJR's. So I cross-trained, and now I'm a Unit Education and Training Manager, which is why I have so much time to post. The title is actually misleading as I run a group-level program overseeing training for more than 1,000 military and civilians at Keesler AFB in MS. And it's the shit.

ETA: Rider, did your base start with a letter early in the alphabet?

I officially left service from Scott AFB. But I have been stationed/ tdy to more than I can count. My first deployment was Kosvo, when I was a young Airman. I don't really feel to comfortable about talking too much about my time in Southwest Asia, but I was at base "B" and I have been to a "STAN" country
