Okay so I know this isn't about two wheels.....but i'm confused (what else is new right?).
What is the deal with snow tires. I don't know what size of tires I have on my car, I just know they're Toyo's. Do I need new rims? How do I know what size to get? I have a 2006 Mazda 3 (4 door). HELP! ![]() |

1) go to your local tire supply store.
2) tell them you want Bridgestone Blizzak's put on your car. 3) the end. |

amen to that. We got 104 inches of snow in one weekend a couple years back and these things took it all in stride.

I already googled smartass!
I want it explained to me in plain language. My question relates to the fact that I don't necessarily have the money to shell out on this even though I know I need them. So I thought about looking at used ones and that's where I got confused. |

Your tires will have their size marked right on the side of them.
You either have 16" or 17" wheels. The Mazda3 came both ways. 205/55-16 if you have 16" 205/50-17 if you have 17" |

You don't NEED new rims, but a plain set of steel rims make life so much easier if you have a place to store them. Crappy Tire has rims, as do most of the cheap tire places. In my area I can usually get away without snows, because Toronto bakes the snow off the roads in a day or two this far out. I wouldn't risk it if you're living where you used to.
