alcohol and concealed carry permits

i'm trying to figure out what the laws are concerning being drunk and in possession of a firearm. i know it's a retarded idea but me and my roommate are having an argument about it. if anyone can help i'd appreciate it

If you are in your home and on your property I'm guessing you can get as drunk as you want with as many guns as you want and that's without a concealed or carrying license.

But I'm assuming you are talking about in public locations where a CCW would apply. Here in Georgia I could carry a firearm into a bar (open or concealed) but the bar can deny you too (which is their right). But if I even have 1 alcoholic beverage I'd be in trouble. What kind of trouble, I have no clue.

In Mississippi you cannot conceal a firearm in a location that makes over 50% of their revenue selling alcohol by the drink. So I can carry in Chili's, but not the Fort Bayou Saloon. There's no specific law about being drunk with a firearm, but it would affect your sentence if you had to go to court. On your own property anything goes, but again, if you're drunk with a firearm and something happens you're getting fried in court.

Actually in GA you CANNOT carry in a "BAR", if you try you will probably be arrested violently The law was recently changed to allow carry in a "RESTURANT" that serves acohol (was prohibited until last year with the change). It is against the law to consume alcohol while carrying concealed or otherwise in a public venue. Before, that law stated that the firearm HAD to be concealed to carry in public, now it can be carried openly from what I understand. Personally I don't like to advertise that I'm carrying. You still cannot wear one in any govt. buildings. I don't thnk you need a permit now to have a loaded firearm in your vehicle, before it had to be unloaded without a permit. Those were the major changes in GA laws recently.

All states I know of will put you in jail and strip you of your carry license and could strip you of your ability to obtain a carry license in the future. I don't know of any states that will allow you to carry and drink alcohol.

Yeah that is the trick... you basically cant carry and drink in public. Here's michigan's law on it

I dont know PA's exact law...but I know Gov't building are not allowed and I'm pretty certain it's not allowed in bars. As far as actually drinking and carrying...I dont know our laws but I tend to agree with Trip.

Well I don't believe Georgia has any technical bars. Aren't all places that serve alcohol in Georgia required to be are 70/30 splits. Except for some in cities like Athens or Savannah but I think those are 50/50 splits which I think still classifies them as a restaurant.

The laws are fucked up weird, especially when they clash with federal laws. Which reminds me whatever happend to that Georgia congressman who said he was going to carry a pistol into Hartsfield and pick up his wife?

Either way I say Fuck Em'. 2nd ammendment says I can bear that bitch if I want to. Though private property rights supercede my right to carry on someone's property. Though I wonder if an argument could be made that since the state allows it, a private business can't deny someone the ability to carry a pistol into their place of business (I wouldn't agree but wondering).

It depends on the percentage of their revenue. Resturants are places like Red Lobster that serves alcohol is not considered a "bar" and you can carry in them now. All the "clubs, bars, that were in Buckhead were classified as bars that served food. Before this last change you could not carry in any establishment that sold alcohol for consumption on the premises.
