High school student, Jack Christie, has been suspended from school for videos he made on his own time, then posted on Youtube. There was no connection between the videos, and the school, until he was suspended so their prophecy was self-fulfilling.

Unbelievable.

There shouldnt just be students supporting them. Every student, parent, and anyone who cares about their rights should be on the school lawn, refusing to go in, until Mr Christie (he makes good cookies) is reinstated and publicly apologized to. I think this nothing short of absolutely disgusting. Saddens me to see this stuff happen here in Canada.

Too bad he really can sue for emotional distress. It might be frivalous, but so are the reasons they kicked him out of school.

You know, they say adversity is key to defining one's character. This young man has one hell of a definition. I admire his ability to step-up when slapped in the face. All that said, I'm with Apoc - more people need to get behind him and not just students.

Kudos to the kid for standing his ground.

However, there WAS a connection between the school and the videos.

Yup, I noticed that after the fact. It means that the videos were acceptable to the school, at the time, but his posting of them still had nothing to do with the school. It was done on his own time and a year after the project.

Yeh, seems to me that a school administrator made a decision that teh videos werent reflecting a positive image of the school, so he told the kid to take them down. Not wanting to get his dick trampled on when the kid said no he suspended him and called the cops. Now the administartor, not wanting to show weakness for fear of loosing control is just stepping on his own toes and alienating his other students.

If it were my kid I would tell him to take the videos down and put up some other crazier shit in its place.

Sounds like the most likely scenario.

I doubt the videos were ever acceptable to "the school". They were obviously acceptable to Mr. Feheley and once they got out the administrators freaked.

I'm curious to know what, if any, consequences Mr. Feheley will face.
