Same here. My little cat who I adopted (stray) and nursed to health jumped out of my car at the vet's today and ran into the woods.. I made posters and set some traps and looked for a long time, but no luck yet.

Cats generally won't move more than a few houses away (it's actually rare to have any "homing" instinct, and try and navigate back home).

Go back, and look where it escaped. Bring food, treats, etc.
