About the only use I can see is in training your dog to be comfortable around the noise of a shotgun going off. You can hold the dogs collar with one hand while firing your pistol with the other.

Actually there are many takes on this concept all of which are great car defense guns. Think you can grab that off your side or from the side of the seat and take a dudes head off at your side window!

Yep... short barrel, buck shot, close range... should all add up to a nice job of relocating some thief's head!

Thompson Center has single shot hunting pistols and IIRC one of their options is a 20 gauge shotgun round.

Back in the 1920s there was a manufacturer that produced a home defence pistol that was essentially a double-barreled 20 gauge, with a pistol grip. Can't remember the name of the company though.

*EDIT* thinking again on it, maybe they were both 410 gauge? Found this while I was looking around though:

The Judge seems like fun, but it's so limited in purpose that I can't see myself spending the money for it.
I guess it just depends on how badly you want to kill snakes or melt faces.

It would pulp a barn rat or shred the guts of a burglar, without going through too many walls.
