"Am I black?"

A girl at work was talking about not being included in some testing. And then she dropped this bomb:

"What? Am I black?"

So I called her out on it saying it was not only a poor choice of words, but a very poor reflection on her.

Now there's a big hullabaloo and I will probably going into HR soon.

But honestly....who says that?

Part of growing up in the south.

It's a pretty stupid question: She's obviously not black since she has a job.

Ya, its pretty common. Definateley not unheard of. I have probably said it once or twice myself. But we've had this conversation, I didnt know ANYONE liked black people before I was old enough to leave this area.

I think she meant she's expecting to be called into HR, not that she's going to them. I could be wrong, though.

I can't believe someone would say that these days...I thought that everyone used 'Mexican' nowadays...well except for the Mexicans...I think they say 'illegal alien' in this instance.
