scorpions vs sharks

looking for another lid, anybody have experience with the sizing of the exo-1000 and rsr2? I mean, should a medium in one equate to a medium in the other.

Or do scorpions run sizing more like the HJCs?

My experience is that Sharks are tighter in the forehead/nose than Scorpions.

i was recently looking for a new helmet and a friend of mine, who is pretty fucking knowledgeable on all things bikes, explained to me the difference between plastic/polycarbonate helmets and fiberglass/kevlar/aramid helmets.. he has tested both plastic and the fiberglass and he swears by the fiberglass (which you will also note are more money but I guess depends on how much you think your head is worth? Do you have a $150 head or a $500 head?).

My experience is, my buddy's Scorpion fell apart. (was the one with the built in internal visor) the "S" emblem fell off, the cheek pad attachements came off. It was comfortable for the first little bit, then when the cheekpads started moving he bought a Shoei.

My Shark was an RSi. I loved it. It was comfortable, extremely light and held up well over three years. The only downside of a super light helmet such as a Shark is that it is going to be loud.

If you want to talk "tests" an $89 hjc is as good as any helmet on the market.

his data is from 160mph+ crashes on race tracks and whether or not he got a major concussion..

The first link has $50 helmets meeting the highest standard. The more expensive helmets are usually more expensive because of, sponsorships, aerodynamics, graphics, bells and whistles, comfort, quietness, and people who believe "$100 dollar head, $100 helmet".

There's nothing wrong with spending good money on whatever you like. Everybody does it. But, paying more doesn't always mean you're getting the safest product.

I already own a shark RSR2, fucking love the damn thing. But I'm not one for only having one lid. Shark discontinued the RSR2 line, and I haven't found the Race-R or Race-R Pro models online yet. Don't have a problem spending $$$ on lids, simply curious about sizing, not theology.
