Default Georgia Peeps, Need Insurance Advice!

I need to find out if bike insurance is required in the state of GA. I am moving at the end of this month, I currently have State Farm, but they are royally pissing me off and I want to cancel my policy...

Im also checking with my lender on their requirements...

(apparently it got transferred to another agent and they are doing a shabby job at notifying people, telling people who they are, and sending me policy changes in the mail telling me to sign without me requesting a change or them explaining it)

AND, in the state of Georgia, anyone got a recommendation for an insurance company?

Not in Georgia, but I wanted to ask what part of Georgia are you relocating to? As for insurance I'm using Liberty Mutual I don't know if they are available in Georgia or not.

Moving to Valdosta GA...I am thinking I will just transfer my State farm to the "family" agent there.

Cool, I have family in Valdosta. I went from State Farm, to Geico, to Liberty Mutual each change resulted in some savings. Never had to file a claim with any of them so I can't speak to responsiveness, service etc....

Yup, gotta have it. Have an agency that you'd love. All they do is motorcycle insurance. Kirk Harrington and his sis, Kim Nable, have ACE Specialty Insurance. They're located in Cumming, GA, north of Atlanta, but can write anywhere in GA. Their phone # is 770.889.3223. They're also members on GeorgiaSportbike.com and BlokesSportbike.com.

They shop the different agencies that utilize agents, and get the best quote for you. I started out w/Foremost, but now have my bike w/Dairyland County Mutual (one of the Sentry companies).

I know you know this Rae... but remember the price isn't all that matters... State Farm isn't the cheapest for me... but they've earned it in my eyes for the customer service and speedy claims i've had.

oh and get my bed ready... I wanna come do track days!

You're right, it's not all about price. But after doing insurance defense work for 20 years, you know who the good companies are, and who to stay away from.
