I found it to be interesting too...and their review of the Speed and Strength suit brought up this very issue.

Yea that's an eye opener about Speed and Strength! I'd expect that from Frank Thomas and that $299 suit, that has smaller stretch areas btw... Out of curiosity, I've tried to check out the FT suit and see what it's made of but no luck so far.

They didn't say but there's a second article in the same E-Zine that evaluates the S&S suit and points out the use of the budget stretch material.

Great article, but somewhat of a bad read for me. I just looked at my suit, the stretch material is not kevlar reinforced, but there are only a few areas it is used, the inside of my forearm, crotch, and inside of my calfs, but there is leather connecting it top and bottom.

Oh well, I won't replace the suit, just put this little tid bit of info in the back of my head for future expectancy

I checked mine too. My jacket sure enough had the Shoeller Keprotec tag on the arm. Reassuring. However, my pants did not...and is obviously not the same fabric. But it's on the back of the knee and crotch so it shouldn't (fingers crossed) be a big issue.

Interesting. I'll have to check my suit now as AVG was not a brand listed, though doesn't mean anything.
