Got a New Lid
The Old reliable HJC I have been using the past 4 years, needed to be replaced. Since I tend to spend my money of go fast parts (this year is no different I am adding a mild stroker crank to the turbo busa) I needed to stay in the lower end of the spectrum dollar wise. After poking around a bit I was just about to go with a HJC when I stumbled across a Joe Rocket Carbon Fiber. Since thy are made by HJC I knew sizing would be about the same. So I risked the 199. plus shipping and ordered one. The fedex man caught me in my jammies this morning, still about 3 cups away from having an IQ. I figured since I was buying a close out it would be stripped down packaging and I had some doubts (this is the first time I have ever ordered a lid. Usually I go try and buy.
To my surprise I open the shipping package to find the full retail box. When I get that open, instead of the usual cheap little green sack I find the "Deluxe Helmet Bag" A water resistant Zippered Helmet bag with a dual zippered gear pocket in front and a Velcro closed Visor? Pocket on the back. I have seen similar items selling between $20 and $50 so it was nice to find it as a freeby on close out. The Helmet is a full third lighter than any other helmet I have owned (no I have never owned a High end Lid so I have no comparison in that realm. The fit and finish of the helmet appears excellent. It fits me very well internals appear better sorted than the HJCs I have owned with better venting away from the mouth and nose. I am at least 90 days away from being able test ride it at speed but so far the I like the result of my $199. gamble

Where'd you order from? Oneida Suzuki was having a sale but I'm too lazy to drive the 10 minutes to get there

Nice lid. Great price on that one. I like the green one, too.

Got it from a ebay store (part of my gamble) I have been here so long that my wife and I seldom notice the view any more.

Yep, the RKT101 (I think) has been on clearance for a little while now. I've seen it in green cf, blue cf, red cf, bronze cf and the black. Good looking lid. It's basically the cf FS15from HJC. I could have turned you on to an all black Bell Star, or a Shark RSR2 for that money BUT if you are happy with the lid, then that's all that matters!!!
