Best Summer Ever?
Weather-wise, it has been the coolest and wettest in a long time here in Denver. Last year, we had 24 days in a row of 90 degrees or more. This year in June, we never reached 90. Ever been in a monsoon? It rained every day in June, and almost every day in July. Late afternoon around 4 or 5, we would get a drenching rain. Lots of lightning and hail in places.
We have switched seasons with Seattle and Portland. They are having drought and we have already reached our average yearly rain total. Twice I got caught in the rain. Rain suit? Yeah, right I don't own one. Never needed one. Last night, it snowed above 9,000 feet. I wore my winter leathers yesterday up Lookout and my face mask fogged up. Ever ride behind a storm? Still get wet from the splashback, and you have to look out for flooded streets and corners. But it's nice to see the lightning moving ahead of you, instead of coming toward you in your mirrors. |

We've had literally, maybe 3 good riding days this season. Last year by this time, I had about 10,000kms. This year, maybe 4000...

I don't like being hot, but I hate being cold.
But it's fucking hot. Except right now because it's raining. But the forecast is calling for us to get to 102 with rain. |

We've had a fantastic Summer here so far. Mild temps (even down in the 50's at night a few times) and enough rain to keep the grass and plants happy....not to mention Lake Lanier is up to just a few feet below full pool. We've had plenty of great riding days that I've been able to take advantage of when we've been here.

It has been hot. Like, surface of the sun hot. It's difficult packing a trackday when it's 108 outside...
But, I have to agree with you on the "Best Summer Ever" mantra - I'm having the time of my life and it's only getting better.
