I don't know the price of the BOSE ones so can't comment on those.

Is there a place in your are that would do custom molded ones? I'd go for those. I have custom molded earplugs and they are SO comfortable (and were less than $100 but would've been $150 with earbuds).

My ears are a funny shape though.

Another vote for molded custom, however, the Bose sound is very good (though I find they don't reduce noise as much as my Phillips ear buds).

Are you going to be using them on a plane or another noisy environment?

I would get a cheap pair for mowing the yard - sweat is bad.

Speaking as someone that has a tendency to overbuy on accessories that he never uses. I'd live with the ones that came with it for a while until you're sure that you really want to walk around with earbuds in your ears all the time. Besides, the stock ones are probably as good as any buds you'll buy for under $30 anyway. I'd try out the whole system before I go nuts.

I use SkullCandy for mine, and LOVE THEM.... If you want to drop some cash, look at Shure.
