Default 2000 buell blast 500cc?

anyone have this bike, got a buddy thats going to look at one in few hours. talking about trading his snowmobile for it. besides normal wear and tear of a 10 year old bike is there anything specific to the bike that he should know about before doing the deal?

basicly he juat wants a bike to ride, and this is what someone offered him for his sled, and as for parts i havent got a clue. we have a few harley dealerships local so im assuming if he needs parts he can get them there

Good luck. Parts were hard to come by before the shut down. I'd call them and see what kind of stuff they have in stock first, maybe talk to them about how often they are getting new stuff for the Blast.

Bottom line is they are solid bikes.

what kind of parts are we talking? like brakes and shit for regular maintenance?

I'm talking anything at all. I know not a lot of parts were interchangable between the 500 and 1200s. So, if anything breaks he may be SOL when it comes to getting it fixed.

I'm not saying this is necessarily the case, but it is something to look into.

and as for it being a slug thats not that big of a deal because he doesnt have much riding experience he owned a bike for a short period a few years ago but still has a lot of learning todo
