I tend to be super careful with things like brakes, tires, etc... anything that I rely on for my safety.

Hmmmmm.... i've yet to do my fluid. I will do it before i start "riding". The current fluid seems rather dark tho.

To be honest, i really dont know what im doing. I have an idea but.......

IMO anything that will come out in the fall will come out in the spring too, along with anything else that appeared.

But I do check out the brakes/tires etc before riding. And very carefully in the spring before/on the first ride.

Get a shop manual. It'll walk you through it step by step. And try not to keep putting it off. Pretty soon it'll be warm and you'll just wanna be out riding, not wrenching.
