I doubt much would have improved with someone armed there considering he came in like a tactical police squad. From the north Hollywood shootouts it's clear heavily armored people can be fairly resistant to bullets (especially if doped up). But I'd argue that if this happened in say a movie theatre in Compton where there is likely to be a high number of gang bangers then there would probably be enough return fire to knock him down.

And the reality is you can't stop these nut jobs. If everyone in a movie theatre was required to carry an AR-15 then the nut jobs would start bombing just like they do in Israel which allows carrying guns without a permit. Can't remember the last time I heard of a person shooting up a restaurant in Israel but they'll blow themselves up in one.

Non3e of the gangbangers realy know how to shoot though. They would wind up killing everyone the shooter missed and never hit the shooter. There was a drive by shooting in brooklyn over the weekend. 6 people were hit, none were the intended targets.

True, but NYC bans guns so the law abiding gangbangers don't get as much practice as the LA gangbangers where guns aren't banned and they are better shots than the NYC gangbangers you are use to. Not sure that makes sense but I'm betting it makes political sense.

Well they obviously do a great job stopping drug sales through the internet so how can that fail?

I agree to an extent, a lot of NYC is close confined areas with all the appt buildings, th eghettos arent as spread out as it is in LA so I think its just fewer opportunities to fire off afew rounds. The other thing is in NYC getting a concealed carry permit is virtualy impossible, outside of cops and a few busines owners no one is carrying on the streets.
