Day 6

Day 7

Day 8

Day 11... missed a day... Oops...

That's gonna leave a nice conversational piece.

How good are you able to walk on it, if any at all? Are you going to have to have PT?

My knee pads may be Air-Ride and chrome plated but I have standards as to who I use them on.

is it just the angle or did your swelling go up massively on day 4 and 5?

They had me with full weight on it the day after my surgery... in fact, about 10 minutes after that pic was taken... Obviously with the immobilizer on it...

When I went to the doc a couple weeks ago, the told me I could ditch the immobilizer when at home, but I should use it for stairs and anytime I'm out and about (just in case)... By that point I was on a single crutch and I bought a cane immediately following the visit...

Now I'm able to hobble around without the cane and without the immobilizer... I've lost a full two inches off the leg muscles above the knee and I haven't measured my calf yet... I can stand with full weight on it, but it's wobbly... My leg is very weak and if I try to walk normal it wants to give out.

I'm not going to push it... I have almost full range of motion bending my leg at this point, but the loss of muscle is going to take a while to get back. Each day it gets a little better with me having more and more ability to lift my knee, my leg, and bend my leg at will... Here in a few weeks I'm going to start exercising it myself... The doc has no plans for any offical physical therapy...

It's the angle on day 4, but on day 5 the swelling was up... I think that had more to do with the time between me exercising it and taking the picture as with all things being equal, I noticed a reduction in swelling pretty much every day...

At least a month... maybe more... It's hard to predict how everything's going to heal and my muscles bounce back...

Looks like its healing nicely. As far as PT goes, focus on exercises that strengthen the quads. However, avoid leg extensions like the plague. They are hell on knee structure unless done 100% correctly. Best of luck. It takes a while to get back to 100%, so be patient.
