And why didn't he ask the fellow posters or admins/mods to buy him out?

No reason to tel the previous owner to f off. But trust me, telling VS to fuck off, will get you further ahead than not.

Noone here blames the previous owners...we hate that it happened and aren't really fond of the company that bought it. They did ask for help, but I personally never saw anything about the sale until it was past tense...we also had a moderator who made a calendar to raise funds...it wasn't enough. Many sent donations to the site, others bought things from them to help. They were overwhelmed. I can't blame them for selling, but I wish it had been by a smaller entity who didn't have a rep for ruining boards. This community really WAS like a perfectly normal dysfunctional family

. They did what they had to do, and I think any one of us would have done the same if faced with losing everything. It just makes me sick to my stomach that the legal system has allowed this to drag out to this end. Not because of the board, but because he ruined good folks' livelihood and won't man up and pay his dues. The guy was DRUNK that hit them...GUILTY ALREADY! Yet the admins are the ones who paid the price...too bad torture is illegal, cuz I could think of a million things that drunk deserves...

Sorry...I've got a real sore spot when it comes to drunk drivers.

As far as lively, one of these days I'll have to tell you about the fare that grabbed my coochie!

(I used to drive a taxi...I'm FKA Cabbiechick on CF)

I'm the 'Security Admin' (well, WAS) over there. (yes, I'm fairly close to the situation as I'm good friends with Rez and his wife.....hell, he was my best man @ my wedding years ago)

That's really all I can/should say publicly, but I do want the displaced folks to know that it was the last resort

I really don't think anyone that came here has any problem with Rez selling, I'd a done the same thing in his situation which totally blows. I wish them well and they should common over here too

Well You all are welcome here... sorry about your friend's (rez?) luck. hopefully he's doing much better and selling the forum was enough to get his life back on track.

ya know... I just had a thought... we should all have an agreement... when VS comes to buy out TWFix... we take them for the most $ we can... stick around through the year they have the Admin under contract... then create a new forum...

use the $ to sponsor a track day rally or some shit!
