Lesson learned...

Not only have a service manual.
have a ft lbs torque wrench
BUT
also have a in lbs torque wrench

Exactly... Another lesson to add to the many I've learned since I started wrenching/riding bikes a year ago. And I mean MANY.

Which one, the manual? You best get those torque wrenches. If it's a fluid holding fastener or a fastener that holds on something important (caliper, wheel, etc)... then I always torque that shit to spec.

It's especially important with bikes because usually you're going with a steel fastener into an aluminum thread... undertorque, and it'll loosen up; overtorque, well,... see above pics

Nope. The ft/lb torque wrench. Haven't gotten a in/lb one yet, and there is no service manual for my bike yet.
