You're fine until a license renewal comes up though....

I doubt that is this ladies problem though.....the problem with suspending licenses is they do it for ridiculous amounts of time so people take the chance and drive anyway. I mean how are you supposed to get to work, etc for a year or 2 with no license...yes you CAN do it but most people won't inconvenience themselves. They will take the fine and get caught.
But they do typically provide programs for hardship, like driving only to work, home or school...

Okay, I called my insurance agent about it.

She says they will insure you because you are required to have insurance to get your license out of suspended status. If it turns out that got insured and didn't take care of the fines or whatever, then they will cancel the policy.

I asked about the insurance co. covering the costs in case of an accident with the policy holder having a suspended license and she said it depends on the company.

So, no real answer.

This lady is facing no special circumstance with these fines or suspension. She knows exactly what they were for, what she needs to do to correct it, stated the exact amount she has to pay to get her license out of suspended status and said(a direct quote) 'I just don't feel like paying them. I have shoes to buy.'

I've renewed it since already, had 2 copies made, registered 3 cars 3 bikes, added the CDL class A with airbrakes plus bus endorsement and a motorcycle endorsement since. Earlier this year I added the boating endorsement. I don't see it being suspended any time soon, nor am I willing to establish a residence in NY to retake all those tests only to not live there.

she doesnt deserve to have a license or a car in this sort of instance. no excuse at alll.

Also, many states are linked together now so that if you attempt to obtain a license in say FL while your PA license is suspended due to unpaid tickets or something you cannot get a license, or you might but it'll come up in the DMV database and they'll send a notice of suspension until you clear up issues in whatever state you're suspended in to begin with.

Eh, that's just weird ... Sounds like there's more she's not telling you. Since you can go to jail for driving on a suspended license, I can't imagine KNOWINGLY doing that... Weird.

Maybe, but from everything else I know about her, she is just irresponsible beyond comprehension.

When she is out of the office, all her emails get forwarded to me. Every week she gets an email about money she owes to a pay day advance loan place, and she regularly gets emails from people on Craigslist that she has inquired about things to buy. She also comes in and brags about all the cute clothes she bought for her daughters and this camera she got on sale...

She's pretty ridiculous.

Many reasons.
1. If your vehicle isn't paid off, you have to have it insured.
2. If you can't drive, you are probably bumming rides. Least you can do is offer to take your ride when they drive.
3. Other stuff can happen even if vehicle is parked.

And in ND, you can get insurance, and even buy a vehicle without a license.

You can get insurance in texas without even having an M endorsement. I personally know that.

The bike has to be insured before you can get tags for it of course.

I know some states require you to have a license to get insurance but you have to have insurance before you can get a license. Ooooooo the great DMV adventures.
