On the topic of "soda" or "pop," I generally say what I want. If I want a pepsi, coke, sprite, mt. dew, whatever, I call it by it's name. If I'm talking in general terms, I say soda, instead of "carbonated beverages." Funny thing is, it use to be referred to as "soda pop." People in different parts of the country shortened how they saw fit. Some say soda, some say pop. Kinda how a guy named "James Robert" might be Jimmy to some people, Jim to others, Bob to some, and Jim Bob to another group of people. It's just a nickname, it doesn't really matter. Just shows what part of the country you're from.
