The best I've gotten with my Verizon portable hotspot is 15-16 (in the city)....and in the burbs it's always under 10........wtf

I have been seeing in the low 20s outside of knoxville. It's about 10-15 in downtown Chattanooga.

Maybe a difference in measurement methodology. I'm basing it off the connection software they gave me, not a speed website.

A big difference is MB vs mb

MB = megabytes - this typically represents how big a file is.
mb = megabits (8 bits to a byte) so this number is 8 times higher than MB/s

example - my home internet has a 50+ mb bandwidth - I'm able to download at 7+ MB/s

Unless we are all using the commonly accepted method of measuring data transfer....

Megabits, not all data transfer comes in neat little 8 bit packages, so everyone just uses bits when speaking of data transfer.

Refer to my earlier post on the matter, it depends on who you talk to... Verizon, ATT, and Sprint are all using the fourth generation of cell networks, but not at the speed values some engineers have associated with the term 4G.
