I watch Pawn Stars and American Pickers...oh, and the Stan Lee show too.

Pawn Stars both amuses and annoys me. Expert values item at $5k! Pleb foolishly asks for $4k. Rick offers them $50 and a hard smack on the ass for not knowing how to sell something on eBay.

American Pickers is my favorite. I could totally go into that line of work if I could find someone to apprentice with and also... you know... had a shit ton of cash to get me rolling.

I like pawn stars just to see what kind of stuff people will bring in and see how little money they'll take for a rare item.

Ya'll need to see the dude getting rid of an original war bond right before the revolutionary war started. It was stamped by Paul Revere.

All they did was discover a way to market antique road show to a younger viewership.

Yeah the quick buck mentality is hilarious of some of the idiots, and some seem completely pressured to sell their items for far below what its worth.
Appraiser
"Yeah this is most likely worth 5 to 6 thousand in a good auction"
Jackass
"meh i guess ill take 900 and some worthless pawnshop junk trade"

I bet most of that shit they get never goes to the floor of that shop, it heads straight to the auction house, or one of the MANY collector conventions that las vegas hosts.

I was just about to say Pawn Stars is a redneck version of Antiques Roadshow

That being said, I like Anitques Roadshow(guilty pleasure)

Some chicks great-grandfather went to Alaska before it was a state and he brought back a big spoon made of a sheep tusk and a bird/raven/man face serving bowl and it was worth like $500,000

Destination Truth, Ghost Adventures and Supernatural are others

I don't really have too much time to watch tv, but I've been downloading movies I didn't want to pay for over the last few months.

As far as tv shows I current watch:

MotoGP
MotoGP2
WSBK
AMA Superbike
AMA 600
Fox News
NCIS (though i seen every episode...love this show).

There's something to be said for instant gratification and cash in hand. Sure, you could sell most, if not all the shit they take in on eBay or somewhere else online, but as they always say... you gotta find that one person who's willing to pay the appraisal price. Many times, that's hard to do. Letting a $5k item go for $2k may be a better deal for you if you need the money quickly.
