Trip, I have a book suggestion for you I think you'll like. It's a bit more mature and definitely not girly like the Hunger Games became.
It's called The Alien Chronicles by Lucasfilm. It's also a trilogy and a damn good one at that.

It's not often a Scholastic published book gets my attention but, I like them.

Earlier this year Trip mentioned the books in a random thread. It was a boring stretch of Winter so I downloaded the 3 of them. I read the first one in like 3 days and then the other 2 in the next couple of weeks. Didnt see the movie yet though. I only realised it was coming out part way through the books. I looked at some of the early released pictures from it and got worried that I was reading some Twilight shit

It didnt turn out too bad though.
