It's illegal to own a firearm when you have been convicted of a felony.

And actually if this country wasn't dependant upon drugs to make them feel good, we wouldn't have drug cartels pushing drugs.

SWAT teams are not solely used against people with felony backgrounds, which is kind of irrelevant considering how easy it really is to get a felony anyway.

It would make more sense if you said, "If human beings didn't enjoy altering their state of mind then drug cartels wouldn't be pushing drugs." Because "getting high" isn't just an American thing....its natural human behavior. We've been doing it for thousands of years and will continue to do it until we're extinct.

Now, if Americans were smart enough to realize that simple truth and forced their government to end their war on drugs we could shut down the drug cartels....or at least take them off the streets and put them in skyscrapers and office buildings. This is a much more realistic solution than trying to change the way humanity thinks.
