Yeah...I guess it's kind of a good news, bad news situation then isn't it?

Good news? You're enjoying some mild temperatures.

Bad news? You're stuck in the festering shit hole that is LA.

I've only been there for 6 weeks in total...2 3 week long business trips.

Maynard LIVED there....and he doesn't think much of it either.

Serious question for those in the NE...do most people up there have air conditioning in their homes? I remember summers in San Antonio with no a/c....I really do feel sorry for those without it dealing with those temps. We expect it to be this hot and have the means to combat it.

Kinda like when we get snow and ice and people die because we don't have anyway to deal with it.

A lot of newer houses have central air. Some have window units. Others, like me, don't because it isn't worth it for the short amount of time that just having decent insulation to keep the cool air in (comes in at night from opening windows) is enough.

Id say 90% of homes built after 1980 in central and northern ohio have central ac. Those that don't have window units.

Not sure how dry NE is, but in UT, we had swamp coolers instead of a/c units. The air is so dry out west that swamp coolers are better because they don't dry out the air inside the house any more than it already is.

I picked a hell of a time of year to be getting into an outdoor activity
By the time we get off the trails I'm drenched in sweat and have damn near (if not completely) emptied a 70oz camelback.
In theory I should be sweating off some weight but I haven't seen that yet.

I was told by a guy. The south may be hot, but they have good A/C everywhere. The north may not be as hot but most places have shitty A/C or non at all.
