I hear ya. I did it a little over a year ago, I was working becoming a coach, my normal job, and going to college all at the same time.

I LOVE it. But I also love to teach, you have to WANT to teach in order to be a good RiderCoach. If you do not enjoy teaching, then it will burn you out. I usually work two weekends a month coaching.

I have to be honest, if you are thinking about doing it for the money, don't, because the money is good, but it's not the right motivation. Sure money will get you out of bed at 0530, but money wont buy patience when you have to explain to a student why they have to shift into first when they come to a stop, or why they should use four fingers on the brake, or why they might want to re-consider the "Fred Flintstone" stopping method, at 0730.

Not saying that you'd be like that, but if the thing going through your mind when you think about it is "That'd be a fun way to get a little extra cash for parts/bike/track/etc" then it actually wont be fun at all. If you're thinking "Wow, it'd be really awesome to teach people how to ride" then yeah, go for it.

I think I had a thread on here about asking about becoming a rider coach... it's something I want to do... but I'll wait till i have a few more full riding seasons under my belt... but I think I'll see if I can assist when I get to colorado.
