Ed I think this is the first time you won't see a shit storm from one of your threads.
I would take the unemployment and look for a good job. James

Doesnt your retirement get penalized if you take unemployment? Doesnt it hurt your credit too?

I could understand it hurting your unemployment since you are receiving gov checks.

1. Social security and unemployment funds are two separate "buckets" 2. If you're even remotely depending on social security for retirement, I hope you're turning 59 this year. |

I was on FL unemployment back in 2001 right after 9/11 - that really sucked. $275/week is not enough to cover bills, took me 5 months back then to find a job - the market wasn't that great after 9/11. |

Thanks man. It's just weird being in the office now; we all know "the end is nigh!" but we have no idea when. The rumors are "probably months" which makes any kind of planning pretty much impossible. But at least they gave us warning and we've got some time to work with.

Thanks Gina! Hmm, I wonder? Can't say I know anyone off the top of my head that worked at Siemens. Shoot me a PM with some of the people you know and I'll see if they're still here. |
