FUCK! that's a pain in the ass! it'd suck on long trips by your self... checking the oil at a gas station...

yeah, it defiantly doesn't get checked (correctly) as often as it should.
I do pull it and just verify that there is some one the dipstick.

I've been on there since about a month before i got mine, and there is a LOT of good info on that bike. I don't post much, but read a lot.

and also, check the oil yourself before you ride away from the dealership. it's been known that the techs don't even know the correct procedure, but that is getting better.
