This is one of those situations where one person's decision makes things difficult for thousands or millions of others. All so that he (the owner of the company) could jerk off on the idea that his beliefs were being broadcast (in a way) to thousands of soliers.

One of the rules of business is, you don't do anything that risks bad PR if it doesn't benefit you in any way. How has this benefitted his company?

It's a fucking serial number that may mean something to someone. Why does everyone "have to be offended" at everything? Can't people just live with it?

After reading all 5 pages and the other thread, with all of 6 seconds consideration, I have come up with two solutions.

First print serial numbers coded with the Koran scripture, The Satanic Bible, Some obscure Hindu texts, Book of Mormon, and some Buddist proverbs. Now everyone can be offended if they choose.

Second, shoot on site all that are so offended...WIN
