I dont think your accord will fare quite as well
I agree. Its been a tank so I am hoping it will make it through, the upside is the water pulled back fast so downstairs is clearing out as is my accord. Also the bikes survived.

If the water got above the door jams in the accord you need to start cleaning the seats and carpets out right away, salt water will destroy them, fresh water will create mold. If you have a wet/dry shop vac put it to use

That sucks, man. Do you have flood insurance?

As far as the tower crane.

I had a discussion with our crane guy today, who works for a nation wide crane company. He said those cranes if not being used can be set to weather vane where it will swing freely, or the can be locked in position, usually pointed into the wind. The problem with high rise cities is that the buildings beside it, and across the street still claim that the "airspace" above the buildings footprint is in fact still part of the building. If a crane were to go into weathervane mode then the jibb or boom could swing over top a neighboring buildings airspace which normally could create a problem for that buildings insurance, if it were occupied, if something should happen to the crane. Albeit this is an different situation, but thats normally the train of thought. Those tower cranes aren't easy to put up or take apart in an emergency like that.

So I contacted fema and set up an online acct. Did an onlne claim with homeowners and finaly talked to a state farm agent, they def arent always there the way the commercials claim. We will be switching companies when the dust settles.

So far wifeys car runs, but the CEL light is on and the warning light for the rear doow stays on. I tried firing up the accord, didnt realy want to turn over but finaly did. Seemed to run ok but it look slike the SRS light wont go off. Could be because the seatbelt latches were submerged. If they total the cars I want to get a smuch as I can, KBB isnt much for either and I need it to make a downpayment on we vehicles. I will get by for another month or 2 with the bike but we need a reliable car for the wife and kids. Were looking at the honda pilot for now so we will see.

Well, to be fair... in this situation ALL of the insurance companies are going to be a pain in the ass... Afterall, they're receiving an enormous spike in claims...
